Program Assistants

HMS has four program assistants who help our teachers and students in a variety of ways: Diane Barker, Michelle Heinz, Patty Jennings, and Dawn Reinhardt

Laura is a graduate from BYU-Idaho with an associates Degree in Family Management and Home Economics. 
She is married to Knial and they have 4 children. 3 boys and 1 princess girl. She is a true blue 
Florida girl.  She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach and working. Being around people really warms her heart.

Alumni of Highland High School

Graduate from SIUE with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology
Currently working on Masters degree in Special Education to obtain a teaching license
Has been a Program Assistant since 2014 in the Highland School District 

Katie Henricks

B.S. in Education from University of Missouri-St.Louis.  Mrs. Jennings has been a program assistant with the district since 1997, working at the center schools and the middle school.

She and her husband moved from St. Louis to the Alhambra area in 1994.
Mrs. Jennings  volunteers at church and with the USO and Special Olympics.
She  enjoys the outdoors , working in her garden, reading, and quilting. 
Her daughter lives and works in Muscatine, Iowa and her son lives in Edwardsville and works in St. Louis.

2014 Graduate of Greenville College, BS in Business Management.

Substitute teacher in the Highland and Bethalto school districts before being hired as the DSR director in November of 2015.
Plans to return to school and obtain teaching certificate.
-golf, fantasy football/baseball, traveling, coaching in the summer.
- Interned with Ripken Baseball during the summer of 2012 in Aberdeen, MD.
- Played prospect baseball with the FCA affiliated Southern California Catch during the summer of 2013 in Los Angeles, CA. 
- Legally ordained to perform marriage ceremonies in Illinois.

Mr. Derek Reckmann - DSR Director

Debbie is a graduate of McKendree College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with Criminal Justice emphasis.

She is married to Johnny and they have two boys. Debbie volunteers in various capacities including church and Bond

County Foster Hope.  Debbie is an aide to Mrs. Holcmann for grades 6,7 and 8.
