Secretarial Staff

Highland Middle School has two full time secretaries.   Ms. Purtle is the Athletic Secretary and Switch Board Operator.  Mrs. Holcmann is the secretary to the Principal and handles attendance and grades and use of the facilities.

Ms. Purtle was born in Springfield, IL and moved to Highland in 1991. She went to St. Paul grade school and graduated from Highland High School. She has a passion for Highland and the community and all it has to offer.  Ms. Purtle also holds a position on the Highland School District PTO Board. 

Ms. Purtle lives in Highland, and has 2 children, Kennedy and Donovan, both in Highland schools. She keeps busy with her kids and their events, as well as her other furry children, Marley and Louie. She loves spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking and outside in the garden. She loves volunteering and traveling. Her family is very passionate about the St. Louis Blues and Cardinals as well as the Steelers and Twin Bridges Lightning Hockey!

Mrs. Holcmann was born in Highland and graduated from Highland High School.  She has been a secretary in the Highland School District since 1987.   She began her career working in the Central Office and moved to the middle school in 1992.

Mrs. Holcmann  is married to husband, Rich, and has 2 children (Chris and Shauna) and 4 grandchildren (Trent and twins Mady and Brayden and
Brady).  She loves playing with her grandchildren and attending their events as well as spending time with her family and friends.   Mrs. Holcmann enjoys camping, cooking, gardening, bowling, shopping, movies, music, scrapbooking and all sports, especially the Highland Bulldogs and Bullpups, baseball Cardinals, and Denver Broncos. She likes to attend Highland Middle School and Highland High School games.
