Meet the Team 8 Black Teachers: Jeannie Adamick, Jeff Brauns, Dave Giger, Chris Hartlieb, and Ann Kleinmann

This is Mrs. Adamick’s 13th year teaching at HMS.  She has previous experience as a business analyst in information systems at Nestle Purina Petcare Company in St. Louis, MO.  Mrs. Adamick has been married for 21 years to her husband, Bob.  She has two children:  Rachel (27) and Tanner (20).  She has 4 grandchildren: ages 12, 11, 5, and 3.  Mrs. Adamick enjoys outdoor activities, such as fishing, swimming, and camping.  In addition, she likes to spend time with her family, read books, and crochet.

B.S. in Accounting, Greenville College, 1988 Elementary Certification, SIUE, 1991 Masters in Education, SIUE, 1994 Mr. Brauns is currently in his 28th year in Highland school district. -1 year- Alhambra, New Douglas, Alhambra 3 years- 5th grade -1 year-7th grade 22 years-8th grade Mr. Brauns is the instructor for the golf intramural at Highland Middle School and is the JV golf coach at HHS. 

Mr. Brauns enjoys spending time with his family (traveling, golfing, biking, etc.).  He also enjoys watching his two sons play any and all sports.  Playing golf with his sons is a great way to spend his day.

Mr. Giger has taught science and math at Highland Junior High/Middle School for many years. Before becoming a teacher, he spent 6 years and 13 days in the United States Air Force as a meteorologist. During his free time, he likes to bicycle. He enjoys watching cross country meets in the fall and track meets in the spring and summer, especially those in which his daughter competes.  Mr. Giger has also played the roll of track coach at Highland for 9 years between the high school and junior high/middle school. Mr. Giger is married to Caroline and has one daughter at Stanford University in California.

MS-ED- Secondary Education/ History Specialization, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, 1997.
Trained at National Geographic Institute, Summer 1993.  “Those Who Excel” winner, 2001. Mr. Hartlieb is entering his 29th year at HMS, where he was instrumental in the implementation of the middle school concept in 1993.  He has taught both American history and world geography in Highland. He has coached in some capacity in the district for 28 years, including middle school boys and girls basketball, JV girls basketball, and middle school track. Mr. Hartlieb is currently middle school track assistant coach.. In addition, Mr. Hartlieb travels to Washington, DC each year with HMS students and 2018 will be his 24th trip to DC.  Mr. Hartlieb has two adult children with his first wife, the late Wendy Hartlieb . As of October 2018 he is married to Angela Hartlieb and has two bonus children with her, both of whom attend school in Highland.                                                       He enjoys travel, sports and spending time with his friends.

Mrs. Kleinmann started teaching middle school math in 2005.  She taught 3 years at St. Paul Catholic School and joined the staff at HMS in 2008.  She currently teaches math and algebra 1 on team 8 Black.  She is on the School Improvement Team, and District RtI Team.  Mrs. Kleinmann is married to Randy and has three children, MacKenzie (21), Matthew (20), and Meridith (16).  She enjoys running, golfing, reading and spending time with family and friends.
